SCABIES

1. Pathogenetic cause: owing to various evils lingering to producing fire and invaded with wind-dampness or occurring from certain infections. Scabies usually first attack the hands then spread over the whole body showing serious itching especially at night. Scabies have five main types (1), dry scab: suffering from excessive dryness of the lung-meridian, the skin becomes withered and gets in itching, presenting of white scales; (2), wet scab: resulting from excessive dampness of the spleen-meridian, producing swelling with soreness, flowing of white fluid even black juice when gets broken; (3), pest scab: due to excessive wind of the liver-meridian, showing severe itching, no feeling of pain by scratching; (4), sand scab :resulting from heart-blood coagulated, like fine sand in feature, red in color with itch and aoreness and showing liquid by scratching; (5), pus scab: caused from damp-heat of the kidney meridian, like a bean-shaped, sometimes presenting itch and clear light white pus; pus scab also occurring from excessive dampness of the spleen-meridian, but its tip contains condensed pus, showing of itching and soreness.

2. Therapeutical principles: running of insecticide, quenching of itching, and drying of dampness to nourish the skin.

3. Prescription: applying of Scab-Resolving Pulvis.
